North Dakota High School Rodeo Finals Back in Bowman for the 38th Year

The excitement of rodeo season returns to Bowman as the North Dakota High School Rodeo Finals ride into town June 9–14, at the Bowman County Fairgrounds. Families, fans, and rodeo enthusiasts from across the state are invited to experience six days of thrilling competition, western tradition, and community spirit as North Dakota’s top high school rodeo athletes compete for a chance to advance to nationals.

After months of competition throughout the season, the state’s best cowboys and cowgirls will gather in Bowman to showcase their hard work, determination, and talent in a variety of rodeo events. From lightning-fast barrel racing and precision roping to the excitement of rough stock events, the finals promise entertainment for all ages.

The weekend schedule includes main performances on Friday at 10 AM and 6 PM, Saturday at 10 AM and 6 PM, and Sunday’s Short Go Finals beginning at 12 PM. Rough stock events will take place during the evening performances and Sunday’s finals performance.

Contestants will compete in two preliminary rounds on Friday and Saturday, with hopes of qualifying for Sunday’s championship Short Go. The top four competitors in each event will earn the opportunity to represent North Dakota at the National High School Rodeo Finals in July.

In addition to the rodeo action, visitors can enjoy reined cow horse and cutting competitions, shooting sports, the queen pageant, shopping with local vendors, concessions, entertainment, and plenty of western hospitality throughout the weekend.

The Bowman Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the North Dakota High School Rodeo Finals for the 38th year at the Bowman County Fairgrounds.
