Bowman County Development Corporation

Bowman County Development Corporation is the umbrella organization that enables Bowman County to provide the same services as larger communities. From two employees in 2008 to nine in 2024, the Bowman County Development Corporation has grown. By partnering with Bowman Area Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Development Center, Tourism, and more, we are able to provide Bowman County with the fullest range of services while keeping our overhead costs low and affordable.

Bowman County Development Corporation functions as five organizations in one. We feel our communities are better served by the sharing of services. It allows us to work efficiently to serve our County and Community. We are your Economic Development Office, Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Association, Small Business Development Center, and Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

The 2022 Bowman County Community Challenge project

The 2022 Bowman County Community Challenge project by Crossroads Custom Designs has been completed! This new art instillation at the end of Bowman's Main Street makes a huge impact. We've already seen several visitor's take advantage of this beautiful photo opportunity. Thank you James Harriman for your hard work on the project.

Over 1,200 feet of lights twinkle on this 12 foot tree structure. This was such a fun addition to Festival of Lights. A special thank you is given to Baker Metal and Recycling, Josh Zacher, and Josh Buchmann.

As the weather starts warming up it's time to start planning your summit of White Butte. 🌻 𝙒𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝘽𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙚 is the highest point in North Dakota reaching an elevation of 3,506 feet. Are you part of the Highpointers Club? Join a group interested in the highest points of every sate.

For all of those visiting us this summer - check out this mural that will be painted on @bowmanlibrary!

"We live in a visual world. The human being longs to be surrounded by beauty," says Marie Snavely.

Visible from Main Street, this mural will act as an invitation to continue to explore not only the library, but create a connection with the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library thereby stopping visitors in Bowman. The design depicts the Badlands of the area in western Bowman/Slope Counties.

Marie Snavely was one of six of the Artists on Main Street awardees. Her project proposal was for a Blue Skies and Badlands Mural. Here Marie stands holding a sample of what will be painted on the west side of the Library. She will begin painting the final mural in the spring. Visit @bowmanlibrary to see her painting in person.

Artists on Main Street in Bowman is a program in partnership with North Dakota Dept. of Commerce, Bowman County Development Corporation, Springboard for the Arts, and Rethos: Places Reimagined.

Marie's project was one of six that was funded through the Artists on Main Street program. Initial project funding from Commerce was $5,000. In order to fully fund all six projects, Bowman Tax and Tourism gave an additional $1,000 to the program. Marie's project is supported and supplemented by her community collaborator, Bowman Regional Public Library.
