05 Nov Ag Appreciation Banquet
Honors Bruce and Teresa Bowman
The 4 Seasons Pavilion in Bowman, ND once again filled with people ready to celebrate the ag community. The evening focused on agriculture with a special highlight and congratulations given to Bruce and Teresa Bowman from Rhame, North Dakota as the 2021 Farmer/Rancher of the Year.
Honoring a Farmer/Rancher of the Year is a tradition that has taken place for over 30 years and will continue to be celebrated for many more. Honorees are nominated from the community and selected by the Bowman Area Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee. Bruce and Teresa were selected as the 2021 honorees for their significant agricultural contributions.
A passion for agriculture starts at a young age, as seen by the night’s National FFA Organization presentation by Lilli Steeke. That same passion continues for a lifetime. Bruce and Teresa are a perfect example of that. Their hard work and dedication have grown and sustained their ranch since the 70’s.
Bowman acknowledged the integral part his wife played in the operation from early on helping in the chutes to setting up their ranch as a home. Bowman’s also took a moment to recognize all of their children and the help they have given to the ranch which is now under the ownership of his son Eric.
The evening consisted of a social hour, a meal that was prepared and served by the Chamber Ag Committee, a FFA presentation, the presentation of the 2021 Farmer/Rancher of the Year, and entertainment by Jerry Carroll.
“It is a privilege to organize this event to honor and celebrate the hardworking ag industry which is the backbone of our community,” said Beth Criswell, Chamber Ag Committee Chair.
Bowman Area Chamber of Commerce’s Ag Committee includes Beth Criswell, Cory Blaser, Bob White, Wayne Bergquist, Josh Lindstrom, Melissa Lindstrom, Scott Martian, Duane Bowman, Tanner Fischer, Scott Lardy, Becky Brooks, Casey Wallman, Jay Soreide, and Andi Yearout.
The event would not be possible without all the sponsors who value agriculture in our community. Platinum sponsors included Bowman Grain, Dakota Community Bank and Trust, Dakota Western Bank, Farm Credit Services of Mandan, Pifer’s Auction and Realty, Pioneer Bank and Trust, ProPoint Cooperative, and Southwest Ag.
