Business and Volunteer of the Year Recognized

Congratulations Bowman Chiropractic and James Ensign, the 2023 Chamber Choice Award Winners! Bowman Chiropractic was selected as the Business of the Year and James Ensign as the Volunteer of the Year! These honorees were key players in Bowman County in 2022 and beyond.

2023 Business of the Year

In 2006, Bowman Chiropractic, owned and operated by Jim Stafford, opened its doors to patients from their Bowman Main Street storefront. Bowman Chiropractic pays special care to patients’ wellbeing giving them the tools needed to live a more comfortable life. The services reach beyond Bowman County, and our communities are lucky to have Bowman Chiropractic serving the area. From the flexible hours to the individual attention patient receives, there is no doubt how deserving of this award Bowman Chiropractic is.

In 2022, Texas travelers passing through Bowman County were in desperate need of a chiropractor. After calling local chiropractors, Bowman Chiropractic was able to fit them in and send them on their way to continue their journey. These travelers were so impressed by Bowman Chiropractic and the service they received that they made a point to contact Bowman Area Chamber of Commerce to tell them about the incredible service they received and nominated Bowman Chiropractic for this award.

2023 Volunteer of the Year

The Volunteer of the Year is someone who leads the way, serving his community by volunteering his time and talents to make Chamber sponsored events possible, as well as giving to other organizations and causes. It is because of this that we are honored to recognize James Ensign as the 2023 Volunteer of the Year.

James has been on the Scranton Volunteer Fire Department for the past 11 years. In that time, he has served in many positions and is currently Assistant Chief. He spends countless hours at the department coordinating any maintenance on the building or vehicles that need taken care of.

Yearly events like the fire department’s Annual Chili Feed and the Bowman County Fair Parade take many hours of preparation and coordination, all of which James plays a key role in.

Along with his time on the fire department, James has also served 10 years on the Scranton Golf Board. Here he has coordinated Men’s Nights throughout the summers, organized tournaments, and has helped update the greens as well as other projects over the years.

No matter the project, James is willing to give his time and effort for the betterment of the community all while keeping a positive attitude and a smile on his face.

Bowman Chiropractic and James Ensign received a personalized recognition gift to thank them for their hard work. Many deserving nominations were received for both awards. Bowman Area Chamber of Commerce started the Chamber Choice Awards in 2020. Previous Business of the Year honorees include Bronson’s Marketplace and Liquor (2020), Bowman Regional Public Library (2021), and Urban Obsession (2022). Previous Volunteer of the Year honorees include Chris Peterson (2020), Josh Buchmann (2021), and Edna Paulson (2022).  Bowman Area Chamber of Commerce looks forward to continuing to recognize and support the businesses and volunteers in our communities.
