20 Jun North Dakota High School Rodeo Finals Hosted in Bowman
(Bowman, ND) – Bowman Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the North Dakota High School Rodeo Finals June 11- 15. This is the 37th year Bowman has hosted this event! Students from across the state work throughout their high school rodeo season to qualify for the state finals and a chance at the national competition. The week starts with Rifle and Trap Shoot, Cutting Performances, and Reining Performances. Over the course of the weekend there are five main rodeo performances.
The grandstands were full of family, friends, and spectators excited to watch top-notch, high school cowboys and cowgirls. The rodeo weekend is complete with concessions, vendors, and commemorative clothing. This event would not be possible without the support of local businesses who contribute so generously both financially and with time from them and their employees. From the Bowman Ambulance and Fire Department to the volunteers working the ground and everything in between, we are blessed with amazing volunteers.
The North Dakota High School Rodeo Finals has been hosted in Bowman since 1988. An event like this only happens with the dedication and support of volunteers. Rodeo is an integral part of the Bowman community and every year the Bowman Area Chamber of Commerce takes the opportunity to honor a special volunteer that has been critical in making that happen.
When we think of a dedicated community member, we think of individuals who pride themselves in making their community a better place. This year’s honoree most definitely upholds the idea of commitment, enthusiasm, and selflessness
The Honoree for the 2025 NDHSRF is Bowman Fire Department.
Established in 1910 with just ten members, the department today includes 28 trained volunteers who not only respond to emergency calls and ongoing training, but also show up for their community in countless other ways. From parades and Christmas events to education efforts and special events, they give their time generously.
And for the last 37 years, they’ve volunteered at the North Dakota High School Rodeo Finals, helping clean the bleachers, maintain the grounds, and ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Their efforts often happen quietly, but they never go unnoticed.
Please join us in celebrating the Bowman Fire Department, the 2025 NDHSRF Volunteer Honoree. Thank you for your unwavering service, your commitment to rodeo, and your deep investment in this community. We couldn’t do it without you.
Performance sponsors include Bowman Livestock Marketing, Bowman and Slope Soil Conservation District, Dakota Community Bank and Trust, Dakota West Credit Union, Dakota Western Bank, Frontier Travel Center, and West Plains, Inc.
A huge congratulations to all our local students in the finals! Best of luck to all of the contestants who get to participate on the national level July 13-19 in Wyoming.
