The Bowman County Community Challenge is back with up to $10,000 for the top project or event anywhere in Bowman County. Since the start of the Community Challenge, four projects have been funded. These include 2023 winner Scranton Lions, 2022 winner Crossroads Custom Designs, 2021 winner Southwest Shooting Club, and 2020 winner Brosz Engineering.

Scranton Lions took home the prize in 2023 for a new park at the baseball complex in Scranton. Plans are still in the works to have the project completed within the one-year window.

Crossroads Custom Designs took home the prize in 2022 for a Welcome to Bowman are installation at the north end of Bowman’s Main Street. The sign is a beautiful addition to Main Street.

Southwest Shooting Club maximized their Community Challenge winning with several grants and private funding to create Southwest Shooting Complex just southwest of Bowman. They have hosted several events and private shooting since 2021.

Brosz Engineering with their Splash Pad at Rotary Park saw all of the equipment and materials go in in 2023. The final step is concrete work before the full wet and dry playgrounds are ready for play in 2024.

The Community Challenge serves as a platform to empower Bowman County to bring their dreams to reality. By enabling fellow community members to create an event or project to better Bowman County we are able to enhance our quality of life and give our residents a way to bring to life what they want in their community.

The program is centered around one key element: providing funding to make fun, unique projects or events possible in Bowman County. Applicants have creative control and carry out the project or event to completion. The best part is you, the community, votes on which project you want to see created. Plus, the preliminary judging panel is composed of locals from around the county of all ages.
