COVID-19 Has Changed How We Operate the Rouzie Rec Center:

  • ENTERING THE ROUZIE REC CENTER:
    • Social Distance prior to and after entering the Rouzie Rec Center – Stay on the X’s
    • All Customers and Employees will have their temperatures taken upon entrance into the facility by the Front Desk Attendant.
      • Temperature of 100.4 or above will be turned away
    • No one under 12 to enter without Adult Guardian
    • Each patron must stop at front desk and be signed in by the Front Desk Customer Attendant via the computer system. 
  • HOURS OF OPERATION:
    • Adults Only (Ages 50+)
      • Rec Center:   7:30 – 11:00 am Mon-Fri
      • Pool:  Adult Lap Swim 7:30 – 8:30 Mon-Thu
      •           Adult Lap Swim 12:00 – 1:00 pm Mon – Fri
    • Youth, Families, and Young Adults (Ages 12+, Under 12 with Adult Guardian)
      • Swim Lessons (Group and Private):  Child approaches front desk to have temp taken by the Front Desk Attendant, goes to the waiting area on the pool ramp. Practices social distancing. Departs through boys locker room; 8:45 am – 11:35 am, 4:15 – 5:45 pm Mon-Thu.
      • Rec Center:   11:00 am – 8:00 pm Mon-Fri, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Saturday, 2:00 – 7:00 pm Sunday
      • Poo:  Open Swim 45-50-minute sessions begin at the top of the hour – At the end of each session all patrons must leave the pool area, exiting through the boys locker room:
        • 1:00 – 4:00 pm, 6:00 – 7:30 pm Mon-Fri,
        • 1:00 – 5:00 pm Saturday,
        • 2:00 – 6:00 pm Sunday
  • ROUZIE REC CENTER / POOL OCCUPANCY GUIDELINES:
    • Locker Rooms Closed
      • Boys locker room used for a walk-through exit only.
    • Gym East End – Maximum 6 users at once
      • 2 Shooters per basket at one time.  No cross-court games. Only sit at social distance markings on bleachers.
      • 3 per side if volleyball net is set up
    • Gym West End – Maximum 6 users at once
      • 2 pickleball players at one time (no doubles)
      • 4 cardio machine users at one time.
      • Only sit at social distance markings on bleachers.
    • Cardio Room – 3 users at one time
      • No one under 15 allowed at any time
      • Practice Social Distance during workout
      • Each patron must disinfect all items touched
    • Weight Room – 4 users at one time
      • No one under 15 allowed at any time
      • Practice Social Distance during workout
      • Each patron must disinfect all items touched
    • Rest Rooms – 1 user at one time (parent w/child exception)
      • Wash hands thoroughly
    • Hallway –
      • Practice Social Distance while in the hallway (6 feet distance)
      • 1 at a time at the candy machine
      • 1 at a time at the pop machine
      • 1 at a time at the change machine

PICKLEBALL IS HERE!!

Come and play pickleball on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the Rouzie Rec Center during the fall, winter, and spring.


Seniors 60+ FREE -  Did you know if you are a resident of Bowman or Slope County and your are 60 years of age or older you are eligible for a free membership to the Rouzie Rec Center?  All you have to do is fill out a membership form.  We offer a cardio room with recumbent bikes, eliptical machines, treadmills, inversion table, versa climber, and the very popular nustep machine.  We also have redecorated the cardio room and installed two large big screen TVs for you enjoyment while you exercise.  Many people prefer to walk in the gym for exercise.  And the weight room has many Nautilus weight machines.  These machines, once given an orientation, are very good for helping keep your muscle tone safely.  The Bowman/Slope Council on Aging has purchased memberships for all seniors through September 30.

Job Openings for Summer

Baseball/Softball:

Coaches:  Babe Ruth, Little League, Midgets, T-Ball, Girls Softball

Umpires:  Babe Ruth, Little League, Girls Softball, Coed Softball

Pool:

Head Life Guard:  Full Time approx 35-40 hrs per week.  Starts mid-May (1 position)

Instructing Life Guards:  Full Time approx 30-40 hrs per week. Starts last week of May. Need to have current WSI and Life Guarding certification to work. (up to 5 positions)

Life Guards:  Full Time approx 10-30 hrs per week, Monday - Sunday.  Starts last week of May.  Need to have current Life Guarding certification to work. (up to 4 positions)

Maintenance:

Summer Maintenance Mowing/Weed Eating:   Starts first week of May; 20 - 40 hours per week (up to 2 positions).

Rec Center:

Front Desk / Concessions: Starts mid-May. Various shifts, Mon – Sun 15-30 hrs per week. (several positions)

Program Assistant:  Part-time position will be responsible for assisting the Director with adult and youth programs and events.  Assist with event and program marketing, scheduling, and event management. Part-time, flexible hours up to 19 per week.

  • Summer Programs:  Assist with baseball/softball program management to include, but not limited to concessions and umpire schedules. Up to 30 hours per week.
  • Rouzie Rec Center:  Assist with front desk scheduling and training, special events, and marketing.  Up to 19 hours per week.

Camp Host:  To be a visible representative of the campground; to promote care of the campground by performing light maintenance work and being a model camper; to greet and assist visitors; to inform visitors of campground rules; to answer questions; to distribute facility information; and to monitor camping fees and permits.

Officials:  

Volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball officials and umpires are needed to help keep the programs going.
