Revised Liquor Ordinance Adopted by the City of Bowman
August 04, 2015
Proposed changes to the city’s liquor ordinance were analyzed and discussed over several months by a 10 person committee consisting of local, bar and restaurant owners, public staff and at large committee members. The Bowman County Development Corporation believed this to be an important topic when issues arose for potential and current businesses that were looking to bring or expand their services. Those businesses were running into a road block when it came to the ordinance that was in place.
After careful consideration and extensive research the revised ordinance better encompasses the needs of the city of Bowman and its businesses.
Key Changes include:
• Additional classifications of licenses
• Removed the current cap on number of licenses available
• Larger issuance fees.
The revised ordinance’s increased fees would create additional funds to be used for Alcohol Education and Awareness by the Bowman Police Department. For additional information about the revised liquor ordinance visit the City’s website: www.BowmanND.com/City or contact Cheryl Ryan at 701.523.7627.
