Bowman County Developing New Mobile App

November 15, 2016

In a technology forward effort to help promote Bowman County, and the many things going on, the Bowman County Development Corporation will be launching a new Bowman County Mobile App.

By downloading the free app, visitors and residents will have immediate access to local event calendars, push notifications and special discounts from local retailers and restaurants. The app will be available for both iPhone and Android users and be located right in the user’s App Store.

The Bowman County Development Corporation is working with Bluebridge, a mobile app provider recommended by Watford City, to develop the app. According to data provided by Bluebridge, the average American spends close to three hours per day on their mobile phone and 86% of that time is spent in mobile apps.

“We’d like to reach 500 downloads within the first six months of launching,” says Aurora Keppler, Tourism Assistant for the BCDC. “This will be a great way to promote what Bowman County has to offer right at your fingertips.” The BCDC’s goal is to not only help promote tourism in the area, but to find new and better ways to communicate with local area residents about what is going on and available in the community.

Funding for the app was provided by a grant through Tax & Tourism. The target launch is December 2016.
