One of the Bowman County Fair’s most popular events will be held two weeks before the fair this year.
The demolition derby attracts a large turnout each year during the fair but in order for the Bowman County Fair Board to add a new event, the derby had to be rescheduled.
June 28 is the new date for the demolition derby, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
This year the fair board is trying something new with the addition of a truck or pickup pull, a popular staple to many county fairs across the nation.
A truck pull is a motorsport competition that requires trucks to pull a heavy sled along a 35-foot-wide, 330-foot-long track, with the winner being the vehicle that pulls the sled the farthest.
The sport is known as the world’s most powerful motorsport.
The truck pull is scheduled for 1 p.m. July 11 during the fair.
